Bhubaneswar (Latitude ; 20º 15'N, Longitude : 85º 52' E), is the capital city of Orissa, situated at an altitude of 25.9 meters
above the sea level. It has a bracing climate with the normal maximum and
minimum temperatures of 32.4ºC & 25ºC respectively. The annual
rainfall is 1450 mm, out of which about 80% is received during the monsoon
season from June to October.

Bhubaneswar, the Chakra Khetra, is described as a Temple City of Orissa, where
numerous temples were built during 6th century A.D. to 15th century A.D.
The Mukteswar temple is one of the most beautiful temple and is
described as a dream realised on sandstone. The superb Temples of
Kedargouri, Parsurameswar and Rajarani bear the testimony of art,
architecture, mathmetics, culture and religion. The Lingaraj temple is
the most famous and one of the best archeological monuments of East.
 Sun Temple at Konark, popularly known as
Black Pagoda,
is world famous for its lively art, excellent architecture and sculpture.In
appreciating the famous monument, its top part has been used in framing the
logo of the University. Konark is 60 km from Bhubaneswar on road and
35 km on marine drive from Puri, famous for Lord Jagannath Temple.
Bhubaneswar, Puri & Konark form the Golden Triangle, which attracts the
national & international tourists round the year.
Bhubaneswar has assumed the importance as an institutional town ,
where the important centres of learning and research are located. The city
is well connected by railways, roads and air ways. OUAT campus is situated
at 7 km away from Bhubaneswar Railway Station. Which is on the main line of
South-Eastern Railway. Direct trains are available to most of the cities of
our country. It is 3 km away from the bus stand on N.H. 5. Biju Patnaik
International Airport, linked with New Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai and
Calcutta, is also 3 km away from the University.
